Ben Catherwood, Dentist.

Ben graduated from Otago University in 1995 with a bachelor of dental surgery degree. After working at Napier hospital then A+E dental centres in Auckland he spent a couple of years working in the UK. On return to NZ he settled in wellington and joined a group practice on the terrace where he practices today. Ben enjoys the variety of general dental practice and the challenges it provides. He is married to Bridgette, has four children, and is an avid sports fan.

Denise Hunter, Hygienist.

Denise, a proud Scot, graduated from Glasgow Dental Hospital in 1997 and worked in private practice before obtaining the opportunity to work alongside the periodontal specialists at the prestigious Eastman’s Dental Hospital in London. She was then approached and became a tutor within the Eastman’s School of Dental Hygiene and Therapy. Denise married Matt, a Kiwi, and moved to New Zealand, joining our practice in 2004. She was the president of the Wellington Dental Hygienist Association in 2008 and is now a regular contributor at meetings of the association. Denise regularly attends dental conferences and lectures throughout New Zealand and enjoys providing health promotion to local groups around the Wellington area. She strives to promote excellent care and prevention of periodontal/gum disease to all our patients and is a great asset to our practice. Away from the office Denise enjoys all sporting activities and has a future football star in the making in her son Jack.

Christine Rolfe, Receptionist/Manager.

Christine has a dental background stretching back 20 years in Wellington and the Kapiti Coast. Originally a dental assistant, Christine was headhunted by Ben in 2005 when an administrators role opened up at the practice. Christine is the key figure when it comes to arranging appointments, scheduling regular check-ups and managing Ben and Denise’s appointments. Christine is married to Mark, they have a son who is a computer genius at at 7 years old.

Amber Christensen, Dental Assistant.

Amber is a highly experienced assistant having worked in Wellington and London before joining Ben’s practice in 2008, upon returning to New Zealand from her OE. Amber enjoys the social contact and variety of people she gets to meet while working. Helping patients feel comfortable throughout the various dental treatments available is of particular importance to her. Amber came door knocking at the right time when a staff vacancy came up in 2008, she has proven to be the ideal fit for the practice. With a love of bright colours, vintage clothing and collectables and a recent renaissance of knitting enthusiasm Amber’s interests are unique and varied. Amber also enjoys yoga and coasting around the bays on her cruiser bike. Her partner, Adrian, is a mad sports fan which well, kind of ensures Amber has a daily update of sports news.
